Walt and Lee Ann Starr have donated a number of building lots in Lowndes and Oktibbeha County to the College of Forest Resources. The lots, such as this 1.9 acre lot in the exclusive Prairie Waters subdivision, are sold and the funds from the sale of these lots are used to fund the John W. Starr Memorial Scholarship fund. Currently the college has one lot in Ridge Lake subdivision and will have another for sale in Prairie Waters in the near future. “Today’s gifts will educate our future leaders in the forestry industry” said Walt. Walt is the son of esteemed forestry professor John W. Starr.
