History
The MSU SAF Student Chapter merged with the Forestry Club in 2001. The student chapter has consistently ranked among the top chapters in the nation. In the past eight years, the group has finished atop the overall chapter rankings, capturing first place in the 1996-97, 2000-01, 2003-04, and 2005-06 school years; second place in 1998-99, 2001-02, 2004-05, and 2006-07; and third place in 2002-03. The chapter has won first place for five years in Web site competition. The Chapter is extremely active, participating in College events such as the Welcome Back Barbeque, Spring Awards Banquet, Spring and Fall Field Days, and Summer Barbeque. The chapter is also a community-service minded group working around the community in the Adopt-A-Highway Program, Project Learning Tree, and Forests for Humanity.
