College of Forest Resource Scholarship applications are accepted from January to April 1 of each year. Freshmen should complete the Mississippi State University Scholarship Resume online through their Admission application on the MSU web page. Students must submit a CFR Scholarship Application prior to April 1 to be considered for a departmental scholarship. Renewal of scholarships are based on Fall grade reports each year. Renewal of a scholarship is competitive. Applications are available from the CFR Office of Student Services, Box 9680, Mississippi State, Mississippi 39762.

Boyd Burrow Greater Jackson Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation Endowed Scholarship.
Established by the Greater Jackson Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation in memory of Boyd Burrow, a long-time member and passionate turkey hunter, this scholarship is for sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled in the College of Forest Resources. Students must demonstrate acceptable academic achievement and show promise of an outstanding career in Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries or Forest Products.
Bynum L. Meeks Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Bynum L. Meeks. Candidates must be full time juniors or seniors in the Forest Management Option within the Department of Forestry or one of the following options within the Department of Forest Products: Wood Industry Management or Wood Materials Science. Students must have completed the summer field session and be a resident from one of the following counties: Adams, Amite, Claiborne, Copiah, Franklin, Hinds, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Madison, Pike, Walthall, Warren, and Wilkinson.
Charles and Carolyn Dismukes Ambassador Fund
Established by Charles and Carolyn Dismukes; awarded to select students in the College of Forest Resources. Ambassadors assist with student recruiting into the College of Forest Resources.
Clyde Patrick Wade Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of conservationist Clyde Patrick "Pat" Wade by his family. Priority is given to Forestry or Wildlife and Fisheries students who are American citizens and are in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study. Selection is based on academic achievement, character, leadership, and work ethic. Preference will be given to students who have epilepsy or who are affected by other chronic medical conditions.
Colonel Kenneth (K.D.) Johnson and Catherine B. Johnson Endowed Scholarship Fund
Funded by Colonel Kenneth (K.D.) Johnson and Catherine B. Johnson, this scholarship is awarded to a student in the Forestry major who has demonstrated acceptable academic achievement and shows promise of an outstanding career in the forestry area. Applicants with financial need will be considered over other qualified students.
Columbia Forest Products Annual Scholarship
Funded by Columbia Forest Products of Trumann, Arkansas. This scholarship is awarded to Forest Products students with an interest in lumber, composite, or related areas with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Summer internship is possible.
Dale H. Arner Memorial Scholarship in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries
Established by friends, former students, and professional associates in honor of Dr. Arner, Professor Emeritus. This scholarship supports wildlife and fisheries students who demonstrate high academic achievement, are active in student organizations, research, and have demonstrated leadership ability.
Davis and Ann Mortensen Endowed Scholarship in Forest Resources
Established in December of 1999 by a generous contribution from Mr. and Mrs. Davis K. Mortensen. Candidates must have a composite ACT score of 26, have records of academic achievement, and demonstrated leadership skills.
Delta Pride Catfish Scholarship
Established by Delta Pride Catfish Processors, Inc.; awarded to a junior or senior student in the College of Forest Resources on the basis of interest in a career in the catfish industry, academic record, and need.
Delta Wildlife Annual Scholarship
Funded by Delta Wildlife, a conservation organization striving to improve wildlife habitat and the environment. Students must be permanent residents of Mississippi and reside in one of the following counties: Bolivar, Carroll, Coahoma, Desoto, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Panola, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica, Warren, Washington or Yazoo. Primary consideration will be give to Wildlife and Fisheries students and secondary consideration to Forestry students with a Wildlife Management option. Scholarship is awarded on basis of scholastic achievement, leadership, career specific activities and participation in professional clubs and chapters.
Dr. Joel T. Callahan, Sr. Endowed Scholarship
Established by a generous contribution from Joel T. Callahan, M.D., an outdoor enthusiast and wildlife conservationist. Students must be enrolled as a Wildlife and Fisheries Science major. Scholarship will be awarded on basis of academic achievement, character and leadership ability.
Durward B. and Georgene Dunn Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of their grandchild, Georgene Elizabeth Grand, the scholarships are awarded on an annual basis.
Forest Products Endowment Fund Scholarship
Supported by income from funds donated by friends and supporters of the Forest Products Laboratory; awarded to Forest Products students on the basis of academic record and merit.
Forestry Suppliers, Inc. Endowed Scholarship
Originally established as an annual scholarship by the company founder, James W. (Jim) Craig, this award is given to students who show promise of success in the forestry profession. Candidates must be full time students in their junior or senior year of study, and demonstrate academic achievement.
Frank Troskey Annual Scholarship in Forestry
Established by Philip A. Troskey and his wife Elizabeth in honor of his father Frank Troskey. Candidates must be full time students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, be enrolled in the Forestry major, and demonstrate acceptable academic achievement, and show promise of an outstanding career in forestry.
Garden Clubs of Mississippi Scholarship
Funded by The Garden Clubs of Mississippi for a student majoring in Forestry. Selection is based on both need and academic achievement.
Ham Sanders Scholarship
Sponsored by Mrs. Ham Sanders in honor of her husband. The award is based on need, character, and academic achievement or any combination of these. Preference is given to students studying Wood Science and Technology.
Howard McDuffie Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Howard McDuffie. The scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries. Candidates must be in good standing. Preference is given to students whose chosen electives are water quality, resources, and flood control.
Hugo Wahlstab Scholarship in the College of Forest Resources
Established in memory of Hugo Wahlstab. Candidates must be full time students enrolled in the College of Forest Resources in the Department of Forestry. Applicants must have demonstrated academic achievement and leadership ability, and must be of good moral character.
Ike Shoemake Memorial Scholarship
Funded by funds from family and friends of Mr. Hilton H. "Ike" Shoemake. Awarded to a junior or senior student enrolled in the Forestry major with Wildlife Management option or in the Fisheries option.
J. S. Therrell Scholarship in Forest Resources
Supported by income from funds donated by J. S. Therrell; awarded to a student in the College of Forest Resources on the basis of potential for leadership and academic excellence, with consideration given to potential to reflect favorably on the University in his or her professional career.
John W. Starr, Sr. and Caroline B. Starr Memorial Scholarship in Forest Management
Established in memory of John W. and Caroline B. Starr, the scholarships are awarded to junior and senior students enrolled in Forest Management on the basis of merit and academic record.
Kevin Nolan Summer Field Session (Summer Camp) Annual Scholarship
Established by Kevin Nolan to assist a full time student majoring in Forestry while attending the summer field session. Candidates must have demonstrated academic achievement, show promise in an outstanding career in Forestry, and must have demonstrated financial need.
Larry B. Aycock Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Larry B. Aycock II, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior in Forestry. Selection is based on academic achievement, character, and leadership ability.
Larry E. Homan Scholarship in Forest Resources
Funded by the interest from an endowment established by the Larry E. Homan family, the scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and leadership potential. Preference is given to Fisheries students.
Leo W. Seal, Sr. Memorial Forestry Scholarship
In memory of Leo W. Seal, this scholarship is given to a student residing in Hancock, Harrison, Pearl or Stone Counties, Mississippi. The award is given to a sophomore, junior, or senior in the College of Forest Resources. Academic achievement, financial need, and personal character are factors considered in the selecting of recipients.
Mark A. Schmoll Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established by family and friends in memory of Mark A. Schmoll, for his passion for wildlife and dedication to the wildlife profession. Candidates must be an undergraduate student in Wildlife Science/Management who shows promise of an outstanding career in the wildlife profession.
Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers' Association (MLMA) John L. Mabry Memorial Annual Scholarships
Mississippi Lumber Manufacturer's Association (MLMA) provides two scholarships in memory of John L. Mabry. These scholarships are awarded to one Forestry Management major and one Forest Products major with an emphasis on the forest products industry each year. Candidates must be full time students, have demonstrated academic achievement, be of good moral character, and have demonstrated leadership ability and financial need.
Mississippi Wildlife Federation Scholarship
Awarded to a full time Wildlife and Fisheries major or a Forestry Wildlife Management Option major with a 3.00 grade point average on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
Polly Anderson Newsom Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Polly Anderson Newsom by her children; Fred, Polly, Petty, and David; her husband Roy, and many friends. Students from Amite and Pike County are given priority. Priority is also given to students in the Wildlife and Fisheries Department.
Robert Lee "Mr. Bob" Carlton Memorial Scholarship
Established by the family of Mr. Carlton, this annual award is given to a junior or senior Wildlife or Fisheries Science major based on academic achievement and promise of an outstanding career in the wildlife and fisheries profession.
Roy L. Pugh Memorial Scholarship
Supported by income from an endowment from Mr. and Mrs. Eugene R. Andrzejewski. Awarded to a student majoring in Forestry.
Scenic Homes-Dr. Richard M. Kaminski Scholarship in Waterfowl and Wetlands Conservation
Scenic Homes/Kaminski Scholars must be enrolled fulltime in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in wildlife and fisheries science from the College of Forest Resources. An MSU grade-point average of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) and involvement in professional and leadership organizations in their field of study also are required. More information
Sharp Academic Merit Scholarship
Established through an endowment by the Kate Sharp family of Tishomingo County. Entering freshmen with an exceptional ACT or SAT score and an exceptional high school academic record are invited to apply for these scholarships. Awards are up to $12,000 for a four year program of study. The scholarships are limited to students enrolled in the Department of Forestry.
South Mississippi Forest Products Annual Scholarship
Established by the company owners, Skip and Julie McCollough of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Candidates for the South Mississippi Forest Products Annual Scholarship must be in their junior or senior year, demonstrate acceptable academic achievement, and show promise of an outstanding career in Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries, or Forest Products. Applicants who demonstrate financial need will be considered over other qualified students though their grade point average may be below other applicants.
Susan Jordan Endowed Scholarship
Established by family and friends in memory of Susan Jordan for her dedication and long-time service to the students in the College of Forest Resources. This scholarship is awarded to a Forestry student who demonstrates involvement and leadership in student organizations within the College of Forest Resources, while maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
Tenneco Packaging Company Forestry Scholarship
Supported by income from a gift of stock from the Tenneco Packaging Company; awarded to a student enrolled in Forestry. Selection criteria include academic achievements and personal characteristics which indicate promise of success in the profession of forestry.
Terry and Anne Ozier Endowed Scholarship
Established by contributions from the Mississippi Forestry Association and the Ozier family. This scholarship is in memory of Anne Ozier and Dr. Terry Ozier. Candidates must be full time students in their sophomore year, enrolled in the Department of Forestry, and demonstrate academic achievement, leadership ability, and financial need.
Vicksburg Council of Garden Clubs Annual Scholarship
Established by the Vicksburg Council of Garden Clubs, this scholarship is to assist a full time student majoring in a degree program in the College of Forest Resources. Candidates should be a resident of Warren County, Mississippi, be in their junior or senior year of study, and have demonstrated academic achievement.
