Aquaculture Research and Outreach


Aquaculture is the culture of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, shellfish, algae and plants. Aquaculture may involve production culture for efficient and sustainable production of food, recreational culture for producing fishes to be stocked for public fisheries, conservation culture for replenishing diminishing species and maintaining genetic diversity, or subsistence culture for providing important protein sources in developing nations.
