The Intergenerational Summer Camps are restricted to campers 10 years of age and older.
Basic Wetland Ecology & Outdoor Sports (May 31 - June 4, 2009)
- Activities and topics may include:
- Boater safety
- Fishing and fly tying
- Seining and electro-fishing
- Bowfishing and canoeing
- Frogs and water quality
- Fish trapping and sampling
- Trapping and aquatic mammals
- Turtles and Invertebrates
Basic Insect & Plant Ecology (June 14 - 18, 2009)

- Activities and topics may include:
- Collecting insects
- Plant ecology and succession
- Insect - plant interactions
- Toxic and carnivorous plants
- Pest insects
- Edible plants and insects
- Insect - wildlife interactions
Basic Upland Ecology & Outdoor Sports (June 28 - July 2, 2009)
25 person max
- Activities and topics may include:
- Hunter education
- Tomahawks and archery
- Shotgun and rifle shooting
- Tracking and radio-telemetry
- Hiking and birding
- MSU wildlife research pens
- Deer necropsy and antlers
- Quail and turkeys
- GPS and geocoaching
* Advanced Concepts & Skills (July 12 - 16, 2009)

- Participants will delve into the ecological principles, population management, and advanced outdoor skills used in the resource profession. Activities and topics may include:
- River canoe trip
- Tree-climbing and rappelling
- Local habitat project
- Mammalogy and tanning
- Orienteering
- Animal trapping and marking
- Basic survival skills
- Parasitology
- * Open to 9th graders or older who have previously attended an MSU Wildlife and Fisheries Camp. REQUIRES Entrance Project and Hunter and Boater Safety Certification be submitted PRIOR to camp.
