Fisheries Research and Outreach

Fisheries is a challenging field coupling human activities with fish, habitat, fishing and aquaculture. Contemporary fisheries includes recreational, subsistence, commercial, and conservation fisheries presenting unique opportunities for students pursuing a fisheries career to work in the Southeast, North America, and beyond! Students can find themselves observing catch on the high seas, figuring out how many fish to stock in a pond, determining what size and amount of fish can be harvested, or figuring out how to recover a declining species, for just a few examples. See the links below for a few of the fisheries facilities and programs here in the Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Department.
