Abstracts

Submit electronic, 1 page, single document (MS Word) abstracts by 29 February 2012, to landrews@cfr.msstate.edu. Submission e-mail should be titled "Prairie Symposium Submission" and body of e-mail should indicate if you prefer to submit a poster or oral presentation. Please designate the contact author with an asterisk (*) after the name and the presenting author with a pound symbol (#) after the name. You will receive electronic (e-mail) confirmation of receipt of your submission within four (4) business days. If you do not receive such confirmation, please contact Laura Andrews (662-325-6694).

Abstracts will be reviewed by an editorial panel and authors of selected abstracts will be invited to publish in the symposium proceedings and give a 20-minute oral presentation (15 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for questions) or display a poster presentation. An itinerary of presentations will be developed and you will be notified of the specific date/time assigned for your presentation.

Abstracts (including table or figure) must fit onto one (1) page and follow formatting guidelines below. Submissions that do not meet formatting standards and/or exceed 300 words in length will be returned to submitters for revision.

• 14 point font title, with title-case capitalization
• Author names in 12 point font
• List senior author first
• Designate the contact author with an asterisk (*) after the name
• Designate the presenting author with a pound symbol (#) after the name
• Use a single footnote for authors with the same address
• 0.5 inch margins
• Single space
• No bold, no underlines in body of abstract
• Italicize only genus and species names
• 300 word limit on body of abstract
