Workshop will address wild hog management
Landowners, hunters and timber professionals across the state, including those in the Grenada County area, are educating themselves about a major nuisance to land and wildlife.
A Wild Hog Damage Management Workshop will take place from 8:45 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Grenada County Extension Office on Feb. 9. Topics include basic wildlife damage management; wild hog history, biology and ecology; feral swine diseases, parasites and potential implications to humans and domestic livestock; wild hog trapping techniques, designs and removal methods; and laws governing animal removal.
Continuing education credits are available for forestry and logging professionals. The workshop is sponsored by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the MSU Center for Resolving Human-Wildlife Conflicts.
