Natural resources workshop set for Sept. 29 in Jackson

Landowners and hunting clubs eager to earn extra income while improving land management for wildlife are invited to attend a Natural Resource Enterprises Business Workshop.
The Sept. 29 event will take place at the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation in Jackson, located at 6311 Ridgewood Road.
"Landowners and farmers can seek new and innovative ways to earn extra income," said Daryl Jones, program director and professor of wildlife, fisheries and aquaculture with the Mississippi State University Extension Service. "These workshops are designed for landowners interested in learning about developing enterprises from the natural resources on their property or simply learning more about wildlife and business management."
Attendees will learn about marketing, ways to reduce liability, recreational enterprise potential, available cost-share programs, management for waterfowl and other natural resources, and nuisance wildlife, such as wild hogs.
Registration is $25 per person or $30 per couple, which includes lunch and reference materials. Advance registration is required at wildlifeworkshop.msstate.edu.
The Natural Resource Enterprises program at MSU is a research and outreach initiative of the MSU Extension Service, MSU Forest and Wildlife Research Center, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
