A doctoral student in Mississippi State’s College of Forest Resources is a top research winner in recent regional competition.

Stephen L. Webb finished in second place at the 32nd Southeast Deer Study Group Meeting for his presentation "Movement patterns of white-tailed deer related to moon phase and weather." He is specializing in wildlife and fisheries.

A Round Rock, Texas, native, Webb was among 18 presenting findings of their scientific investigations at the professional gathering held this year in Roanoke, Va. His research is directed by professor Steve Demarais.

He earlier received bachelor and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
