Landowners who want to earn extra income are invited to attend a Natural Resource Enterprises workshop on Feb. 4 in Rolling Fork.
Hosted by Mississippi State University, the workshop offers attendees the opportunity to learn different ways to make more money from their land. Topics include recreational businesses, marketing, cost-share programs, liability reduction and wildlife management.
"The workshop is designed to help landowners and farmers find new and innovative ways to earn extra income," said Daryl Jones, MSU associate Extension professor and Natural Resource Enterprises program director. "This workshop will give landowners and farmers the knowledge needed to begin natural resources-based enterprises on their own properties. They also will get materials and contact information to help them manage their property for wildlife and other resources."
The workshop will be at the Multi-Purpose Center, located at 316 Maple St. in Rolling Fork. Registration is $25 per person or $30 per couple and includes lunch, snacks and a USB flash drive containing reference materials.
The Natural Resource Enterprises program at Mississippi State University is a research and outreach program of the MSU Extension Service, MSU Forest and Wildlife Research Center, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
